Riding the metro is one of the earliest memories I have, and sparked my fascination with observing society and the systems of daily life. One of my favorite parts of growing up just outside of DC were the frequent trips my dad and I would take into the city, a traditions he now continues with my five year old brother, Matteo. The design highlights structures within the city – roadways, metrorails, and sidewalks – and how they coexist in the chaos of daily life. The color palette adds to the intended end use of the fabric – a large floor pillow for a child’s playroom.
